It’s launch day for Jackdaw Affliction. I will arrange a launch event soon – I promise. I have copies of the book in paperback and hardback sat at home ready to peddle! Also I have some giveaway swag to hand out 😊

People often ask what goes into writing and promoting a novel. For me, the biggest factor is energy.

I live with a chronic illness where fatigue shapes everything. Every task is a calculation. I was medically retired because of it, and while my brain still works, my body only allows things in small, careful doses. Most days I get 1–2 hours at the computer — and not even every day.

So, the writing of the book was slow. The promotion is slow. But I do what I can, when I can. Would I love to pour more time into this? Absolutely. But life doesn’t always work that way.

Today, though, I’m celebrating what is possible. And that this book made it into the world at all.

I hope you get to read it. I hope that I can share the message as wide as possible. I hope I can raise awareness of Ataxia, mental health and disability.
